Just as expected, Samsung opened pre-orders almost immediately after the launch, allowing buyers to place their order for the phones and also enjoy mind-blowing discounts and bonuses.

Here’s everything you might need to know about pre-ordering a phone from the Samsung Galaxy S23 series before the official release later on February 17, 2023. When will the Samsung Galaxy S23 series be officially available for sale?

Samsung revealed the Galaxy S23 phones at one of its regular Unpacked events on 1 February 2023 in San Fransisco. Samsung opened pre-orders for any of the three phones immediately after the launch. However, the phones are slated to officially go on sale or ship to buyers only from February 17, 2023.

How much do the Galaxy S23 phones cost?

During, the launch it was revealed by Samsung that each of the phones from its flagship comes in at least two options. Here they are:

First, the regular S23 is available in two storage options:

  • Galaxy S23 with 128GB storage: $799/£849/€959
  • Galaxy S23 with 256GB storage: $899/£899/€1,019

The S23+ also has two options, but starts from a larger 256GB allocation:

  • Galaxy S23+ with 256GB storage: $999/£1,049/€1,219
  • Galaxy S23+ with 512GB storage: $1,099/£1,149/€1,339

And finally, the Ultra model is the same as the Plus but adds an additional 1TB storage tier:

  • Galaxy S23 Ultra with 256GB storage: $1,199/£1,249/€1,419
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra with 512GB storage: $1,379/£1,399/€1,599
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra with 1TB storage: $1,619/£1,599/€1,839.

Where can I pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S23 series in the US?

Generally, the best place to pre-order the Galaxy S23 in the US is to buy directly from Samsung.  This offers you the choice of some exclusive colours and the top 1TB storage tier for the Ultra. Also, the more important benefit, is that, if you are pre-order from Samsung then the company will double the storage on the base phones. This means that you can get a 256GB S23 or a 512GB S23+ or Ultra for the same price as the entry-level models.

Now, the most awesome deal from Samsung, is that it will gift free Samsung store credit, up to $100 if you buy an Ultra or $50 from the other models.

Not to forget, you can also buy a phone unlocked from Samsung. Yes,  you can also pick one up already set up for VerizonAT&T, or T-Mobile with all the above offers still applied, with the exception that S23 Ultra store credit is capped at $120 through the carriers.

There are also other stores you can also pre-order from, either Amazon or Best Buy, each of which is offering the same free storage upgrade and some free store credit – $50 with an S23, or $100 with the Plus or Ultra.

Also, Best Buy is applying those offers to both unlocked phones and those locked to the big three carriers (plus Sprint).

Concerning the carriers,  for new customer switching, or an upgrading customer with a trade-in, Verizon is offering a ‘free’ S23 and up to $800 off the other models to those who sign up for a qualifying 5G Unlimited plan (delivered through discounted bills through the contract), along with the free storage upgrade.

AT&T is also delivering the storage upgrade, together with up to $1,000 off any of the three phones.

Where can I pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S23 series in Ghana?

For buyers in Ghana, the best place to preorder is Samsung’s official website.  Samsung is offering a free storage upgrade for the Galaxy S23  when you buy directly from the company’s website, and you would also able to choose from more online-exclusive colors in case the Phantom Black, Cream, Green, and Lavender don’t interest you.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is available for preorder now with units set to ship on Feb. 17. From now through Feb. 16, buying through Samsung will get you a bump to the next storage tier (so 256GB to 512GB, or 512GB to 1TB) for free as well as $100 in Samsung credit.

Amazon is also offering the Galaxy S23 Ultra for the same prices as Samsung and you can choose the 256-GB model for the S23 and the 512-GB model for the S23+ and S23 Ultra without paying anything extra. 

Amazon will give you a $50 credit/gift card when you purchase from them, while Samsung offers $80 in credit.

If you are planning on preordering any of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, the safest place is Samsung’s Website.  Samsung is offering a free storage upgrade for the Galaxy S23  when you buy directly from the company’s website, with a chance to choose from more online-exclusive colors in case the Phantom Black, Cream, Green, and Lavender don’t interest you.

That is not all, Samsung is also offering exclusive color options of graphite and lime, though they arrive later on February 28th. Samsung South Africa is running a promotion that will let customers double their storage when pre-ordering a Galaxy S23 device. These customers will also receive a free Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.

The R10,000 trade-in offer for qualifying devices is still in effect for the Galaxy S23 series.

There’s a “free” upgrade to the 512GB version of the Ultra (from the entry-level 256GB model), which also comes bundled with a “free” S6 Lite tablet – again, only on pre-order. The new phones will be available in stores from 24 February.
