Treepz launches business treepz

Treepz Ghana launches business treepz tailored for corporates, schools, churches, events, and tours alongside its plan to launch an electric Bus at its Office in Awudome, North Kaneshie on 16th September 2022. This major achievement coincides with its 3rd anniversary celebration. This happens exactly a year after its official launch together with its app. The ride-hailing company is focused on providing hassle-free shared rides on-demand and mobility services to the public.

The country manager, Mr. Isidore Kpotufe addressing the guests, expressed the inspiration behind Treepz as a solution to the rather inconvenient and major discomfort public buses come with.

The idea birthed in Nigeria by Co-founder and CEO of Treepz, Onyeka Akumah who once had a horrible experience with public buses “Danfo” in Nigeria now has become a life-saving conduit for transport systems through technology not only in Nigeria but in Ghana and Uganda.

 He recounted the major milestones of the company from September 2019 to the present and the company’s effort in meeting sustainable development goals on climate by reducing 1.5m kg co2 emissions.

Mr. Kpotufe clarified that Treepz is not here to compete with Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU)but it is rather to compliment and most importantly digitize their work. Thus by providing mass transit operators by using e-tickets via mobile apps, networks of agents, or shortcodes.

He also mentioned that business treepz will save the working Ghanaian parent who will not have to worry about dropping their children at school and picking them up.

He stated that the company is already in talks with the ministry of transport on policy formulation and it has well received the idea of E-bus for public transport.

E-bus for public transport

The country manager, Mr. Isidore Kpotufe highlighted what is to be expected. The E-bus will;

  • Reduce the cost by 70%
  • Reduce 40% of air-related illness
  • Have a speed of 65kmph
  • Have Charging time be 2-3 hours with fast charging
  • Have Passenger capacity of 16-30

He expressed some limitations regarding the charging system and hoped that government will subsidize the charging network to attract investors.

Nonetheless, Total and Goil have joined in to deliver level 2 charging infrastructure.

“..Treepz is all about partnerships and we are ready to partner with several stakeholders..” Mr. Kpotufe says as he proclaimed the company’s interest in partnering with other stakeholders to deliver. He supported this by saying that they “do not own the buses” as they are in a partnership arrangement with a company.

He further mentioned the company’s effort in educating the public on E-bus as a lot of misconception has been associated with it. He lightly remarked that there is no way you can get electrocuted when it is raining.

Mr. Aboagye, consultant at Maarif International school together with Mr. Kpotufe launched business treepz. This is tailored bus transportation for corporates, schools, churches, events, and tours. Mr. Aboagye commended Treepz for changing the transportation dialogue in Ghana through technology. He said business Treepz has come to relieve workers, students, and organizations from transportation hassle which affects productivity.
