GES introduces a reset option on its promotion portal, allowing teachers to correct errors and reapply beforeGES Introduces Reset Feature on Promotion Portal to Aid Teachers October 2, 2025.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has activated a reset feature on its 2025 promotion portal, giving teachers a way to correct errors in their applications and resubmit before the October 2, 2025 deadline.

The option is aimed at teachers who entered the wrong staff ID, qualification, posting history, or any other detail in an earlier submission. Using reset wipes the previous entry and lets the applicant complete a fresh form, which then replaces the old one automatically.

How the GES promotion portal reset works

  1. Go to the official portal at https://bit.ly/GESPROMOTION25.
  2. If your existing application code is still valid, continue with it. If not, register for a fresh code first.
  3. Log in with your Staff ID and Application Code.
  4. Select the RESET button.
  5. Fill the new application form with the correct details and submit.
  6. The new entry replaces the previous one. You will not see two submissions in the system.

When you should use the reset feature

  • You entered the wrong staff ID, register number, or rank.
  • You uploaded the wrong supporting documents.
  • You selected the wrong subject area or category of promotion.
  • Your years of service or qualification details were captured incorrectly.

Teachers who have not yet applied at all do not need the reset feature. Reset is only useful when an existing submission needs to be replaced.

What happens if you miss the October 2 deadline

The GES has been clear that no late submissions will be accepted after October 2, 2025. If a teacher misses the window, the next opportunity will be the following promotion cycle, which historically runs once per academic year.

Teachers experiencing portal issues are encouraged to contact their district education office or the GES technical support team rather than waiting until the last day.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reset my application more than once?

The portal allows multiple resets before the deadline, but only the most recent submission will be evaluated. Avoid repeated resets unless absolutely necessary, as each one starts the form from scratch.

Will using reset affect my chances of promotion?

No. The reset is a technical correction tool, not a record of error. Only the final submitted application is reviewed.

What if my application code stops working?

Register again on the portal to generate a new code. The system will allow a fresh registration as long as your staff ID has not already completed a final, locked application.

Where can I get help if the portal is down?

Contact your regional or district education office. The GES technical team also publishes updates and support contacts on the official portal.
