If you’re a Ghanaian woman running a tech business — whether it’s an app, a digital service, or a platform built around technology — there’s a $10,000 grant with your name on it. And you have until May 8, 2026 to apply.

The Women in Tech Accelerator, backed by Standard Chartered Foundation, Village Capital, and the Enterprise Development Centre, is now accepting applications. It’s open to women-led tech businesses across West Africa, including Ghana.

What You Get If Accepted

The accelerator runs for 12 weeks. Here’s what comes with it:

  • $10,000 grant (around GHS 111,000 at April 2026 rates) — equity-free, meaning you keep full ownership of your business
  • Training on business strategy, operations, and how to scale without burning out
  • One-on-one mentorship from entrepreneurs who have already done it
  • Access to a network that can connect you to investors, partners, and customers

This isn’t theory. Last year’s cohort of 12 women reached over 16,000 customers, created 430 jobs, and generated $2.7 million in revenue during the programme.

Who Should Apply

You’re eligible if you:

  • Are a woman founder or co-founder
  • Run a tech-enabled business (your product or service uses technology in a core way, even if you’re not building software yourself)
  • Are based in Nigeria or another participating West African country, including Ghana
  • Have some traction already — existing customers, early revenue, or real proof that your idea works

The programme is looking for businesses solving real problems, not just ideas on paper. Think fintech helping small traders, platforms connecting farmers to buyers, healthtech making care more accessible, or tools digitizing everyday businesses.

How to Apply

Go to reg.smetoolkit.africa/witi7 and fill out the application before May 8, 2026.

You’ll need to explain what your business does, who it serves, and what problem you’re solving. Be clear and specific. Show traction — customer numbers, revenue, or partnerships. The selection team wants to see that you’ve started, not just planned.

What to Do Next

If you’re unsure whether you qualify, apply anyway. Many founders underestimate their own readiness.

Set aside an hour this week to draft your application. Get a trusted friend or mentor to review it before you submit. And if you know other women founders in Ghana who should see this, share it with them.

The deadline is May 8. After that, the window closes for another year.
