Do you work with other people who are living in different parts of the world? Perhaps, you work in a large company that has offices around the globe and you would want to know one office also already closed before you try to contact them.
Well, that is where these free apps come in. These are free apps you can use to track the different time zones around the world.
It could also be that your family isn’t with and you’d want to know if they be in the home or at work before you start disturbing them with video calls and all that. Let’s get into already!
Free app to track time zones
Some of these apps are free but you opt for their premium versions at a little cost.
This is a free site for tracking the world’s time zones. It allows you to view the time zones in a horizontal view. A bonus feature is, you can add up to four locations to your screen for free. But you can also pay $3 a month for 20 more locations.

It also warns you of daylight savings time in a week before, and shows weekends. World Time Buddy as well can add meetings to your Google Calendar when you sign in with an account.
There are tons of time zone tracking apps around, why is World Time Buddy special? WTB’s system for displaying clocks is pretty simple to understand. This makes it easy for you to arrange a meeting time that works well for all the parties involved.
World Time Buddy also has its iOS and Android apps. Thus, you can sync your clocks to your phone.
This is currently for MacOS users only. There.pm helps you track the time zones on your desktop with its cool status bar app. There.pm makes it quite small and easier to know your counterparts’ times. You just have to add your workers or family or friends with their locations. That way, you just know what they time is quickly.
This service is only available to MacOS users at the moment. But the company say it is going to release a version for Windows 10 Slack integration soon. With that, you can simply import your whole team all at once.
Well, the above are third party services, but there are indigenous apps on our iOS and Android devices. These are the default clock apps. They also have the feature to support the addition of multiple time zones and locations for easy time tracking.
3. iOS clock app
- Just go to the clock app.
- Then tap on the World Clock (with the globe icon).
- Tap on the plus icon on the top of the screen to add other locations.
- Tap on Edit if you want to remove or rearrange the locations.
4. Android clock app
- Go to the clock app.
- Tap on the globe icon to add other locations.
- Long press on an icon to change its order or remove it.
Remember, these are completely free, especially for the native clock apps on iOS and Android devices. And for World Time Buddy, you can pay a little more to get added services. Happy time tracking!
