Over the years, Samsung has been able to position itself as one of the topmost smartphone brands by being consistent with their amazing specs and software. With their flagship being the Galaxy S, they have made giant strides on the smartphone market.
However, last year, Samsung was forced to call off its Galaxy Note 7 after all the glam due to fire issues. This year, they may seem to make a huge comeback with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and I’ve got all the details for you.
Both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus come with curved sides (a feature that is always reserved for the S edge models only). These curves are also complimented by curves at the back of the phone which, according to Samsung, make the phones easier to handle.
Samsung have done away with the capacitive buttons and have replaced them with software navigation buttons on both the S8 and S8 Plus.
On top of the display, there is a speaker for phone calls, a front-facing camera sensor, and an iris scanner; and Samsung says the iris scanner is an improved version of what was debuted in the Samsung Note 7. On the bottom of the device, the S8 and S8 Plus feature a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, a microphone, as well as a single bottom-firing speaker grill. The right side of the phone has a power button, while the left side has a volume rocker and a physical Bixby key (more on that later).
The 5.8″ screen phone comes with a 1440 x 2960 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. For those who love to take lots of pictures with its 12 MP camera and 8MP secondary camera, you’ll be very happy with the 64GB internal storage and a micro SD slot of up to 256GB capacity.
In terms of colors, there is a lot to choose from. The S8 and S8 Plus will come in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, and Arctic Silver.
The phones are set to be released on April 21, 2017.
