The Nokia 8110 4G was originally released last year but its features have been upped as Nokia lovers complained about some shortcomings in the phone. The phone is a feature phone but it’s not just any feature phone, people seem to like it.

HMD Global released the nostalgic Nokia 3310 in 2017 and had a hit on their hands. With the revived Nokia 8110 4G, the company has gone a little further. Let’s see why the phone is so popular though it isn’t some smartphone with top-notch features.

Features of the Nokia 8110 4G


The Nokia 8110 4G is nicknamed the “banana” phone because of its curved design. It has a curved protective cover which you can slide open to answer calls. The cover is also used to end calls by sliding it back. On the top of the phone is a microUSB socket for charging and a headphone socket.


The screen of the Nokia 8110 4G is a curved 2.4” screen. It has a colourful display, but it’s low-resolution and the screen is not a touchscreen.

Platform & Slots

The phone runs on KaiOS. This OS is seen as the middle point of a dumbphone and a smartphone, so it’s somehow a hybrid. It comes with a RAM of 512MB.

You can use two SIM cards on this phone, plus, there is a microSD slot for expanding the limited 4GB storage capacity. You can supplement the storage up to 32GB via a microSD card.


Google Assistant, YouTube, Google Maps, email, and browser work on this phone. The first version didn’t have support for WhatsApp, but the upgraded Nokia 8110 4G now has WhatsApp.


The Nokia 8110 4g is powered by a removable 1500 mAh battery. The battery life is about 5 days if used heavily. According to HMD Global, the Nokia 8110 4G can stay on 4G standby for 25 days.


There is only one camera on the phone — at the rear side. No selfie camera. The camera is 2MP with LED flash.

Price and Availability

The Nokia 8110 4G is already on the market. It is going for a retail price of GHS 315. Cheap, right?
