A multipurpose ICT library and robotics center that would serve the Dansoman community is expected to be completed by June of this year, 2020. This was revealed yesterday, during an inspection tour of the project by the MTN Ghana Foundation, together with Ursula Ekuful — the Minister of Communication.
Multipurpose ICT library and Robotics Centre
The project, which is being established at the Ebenezer Senior High School at Dansoman — in the Ablekuma West Constituency — will serve students of the school as well as the entire community.
Over the years, the MTN Ghana Foundation has set up ICT libraries in various parts of the country. However, this one is unique in the sense that it is the only such outlet with a robotics centre attached to it.
In recent times, Ghanaians have shown up to make a statement about robotics, with the latest being the all girls team from MEGHIS that won the World Robotics Competition in the United States of America, in 2019.
Corporate Services Executive of MTN Ghana, Mr. Samuel Koranteng, stressed the importance of ICT and robotics in improving on Ghana’s chances in a digital world. He added that the project would help the youth in developing their digital skills in support of the digital transformation agenda of the country.
Upon completion of the project, there will be a 100 seater e-library and 20 seater ICT lab, as well as the robotic centre.
