LinkedIn is launching the newest live video streaming service in town — the LinkedIn Live. This is going to give individuals and even organizations the ability to show real-time video to a group of people or even to the whole LinkedIn world.
According to TechCrunch, in the next few weeks, LinkedIn will post a contact form for others who want to use the service. But one thing that is still not clear is, will LinkedIn allow everyone to make LinkedIn Live videos?
The LinkedIn social network for business has nearly 600 million users all around the world. The plan of LinkedIn Live to cover conferences, product announcements, Q&As and other events led by influencers and mentors. Also, graduation and awards ceremonies, working hours from big tech companies, etc. will appear on LinkedIn Live.
The first phase of the service, which is now, won’t be user-generated content streaming. That’s for now. For more polished live videos on LinkedIn Live, the company has selected third-party developers of live broadcasting streaming services. These developers will work with creators to ensure more polished live videos.

The developers include Brandlive, Socialive, Switcher Studio, Wirecast and Wowza Media Systems. LinkedIn says more will join in the following weeks.
The next money-earning streaming service?
LinkedIn launched its first native video feature back in 2017. Since launching video features, LinkedIn says through non-live video it has had a big boost in traffic and revenues. Thus, it was just as wise to move another step — live video.
“Video is the fastest growing format on our platform right now, and the one most likely to get people talking,” said Pete Davies, Product Management Director at LinkedIn. He also claimed there are millions of the business social network have used the video feature.
Davies continued that live video has been the most requested feature.
For broadcasters, LinkedIn Live could potentially provide a fee-based services platform to broadcast certain content like video-based earnings reports. For now, LinkedIn has not come out with the monetisation plans LinkedIn Live. The company isn’t even putting video ads into LinkedIn Live videos for now but we hope it comes sooner.
