Android phones are very vulnerable to attack and thievery. When your device is attacked in any way, you risk losing all your information or leaving it in the hands of people who have “evil” intentions. Your credit card details, as well as other sensitive information you have, may be stolen and used against you. That is why it is necessary to use various means to keep your Android phone secure.
How to keep your Android phone secure:
1. Lock your phone
You have to protect your device by keeping a lock on it. Ensure that you have placed a unique PIN to protect it from intruders. Even if your phone is stolen, your information is safe with a lock.
Even though more modern phones come with the face lock, iris scanner and fingerprint scanner, the PIN remains the safest option because the others are easier to break.
2. Use apps from Google Playstore only
Majority of Android malware comes from third-party apps. Even though there are some very unsafe apps on Playstore, Google keeps working to make Playstore safer. For example, Google Play Protect can scan your Android device automatically for malware when you install programs. Make sure it’s on by going to Settings > Security > Play Protect. For maximum security, click Full scanning and “Scan device for security threats” on.

3. Turn off connections you don’t need
Why leave a connection on when you’re not using it? It’s probably because of forgetfulness; that is careless of you. Don’t do that! There are BlueBorne Bluetooth hackers and they might be around you.
Android put in measures to protect its devices from such attacks in 2017 but to be on the safer side, just turn the connections off when they’re not in use.
4. Uninstall apps you don’t use
Even though most Android vendors do their best to update their apps frequently, every app comes with its own security issues. Get rid of applications you don’t use. The fewer the safer.
5. Use anti-virus software
Google Playstore’s protection may help you but when it comes to securing your android device, adding antivirus software won’t hurt at all.
The best free option you can use is Avast Mobile Security & Antivirus. It’s a perfect option for you to keep your Android phone secure from malware.
Keeping your Android phone secure is not rocket science. Use these methods and thank me later.
