Finally, we have the Infinix Note 5 in Ghana after its global launch in Dubai last month.  At a well-organized event on Saturday, July 7, 2018, Infinix Ghana launched the new Infinix Note 5 at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra.

A lot has been said about this device but the biggest has been the switch in the operating system. The Note 5 is powered by Google’s Android One.

The device comes with a beautiful design and software which has been described by the manufacturers as “Beyond intelligent”.

Just in case, you haven’t been a fan of Infinix device because of its bloatware. Note 5 promises a clean device and the best of Google software support.

What does it mean to have Android One on Infinix Note 5?

Unlike previous Note series devices from Infinix which had Infinix XOS based software running on Android which added some constraint on system memory. This won’t be the case of Infinix Note 5. This device will get full Google software development services, meaning Infinix would only have to focus on building hardware and marketing of its device.

With Android One, Google will offer updates and security patches for the duration of the partnership with Infinix, unfortunately, I don’t have this information to share. Android One will give Infinix Note 5 a stock Android experience. Hope you are not lost? Stock Android is basically the version of the Android operating system that runs on hardware from Google, such as the Pixel smartphone. The good part is Stock Android is bloatware-free, gets updated swiftly, and doesn’t have anything “extra” from an OEM to slow it down.

You are guaranteed a super-fluid experience with the Infinix Note 5.

This partnership will surely benefit Google in terms of having more users using its apps and services.

First impressions

At a glance, the Note 5 looks sleek and very polished with its glossy plastic look. Does not feel too heavy, and fits perfectly in the hand. Android One obviously gives this device some level of smoothness. My experience using the Note 5 under 2 mins with great. It was fast, the display was beautiful and the few photos I took with it were something I would really like to look at again. The AI technology of the device certainly has brought some serious enhancement to the device. And to top it all, the device is supported with a 4500mAh battery. You can do so much.
