Huawei’s next generation of flagship P-series devices will be unveiled in SA in 2020. Speaking in a recent interview, Huawei South Africa CBG vice president, Likun Zhao and Huawei South Africa CTO Akhram Mohamed gave the confirmation that the upcoming smartphones would be released to their local market soon.
His words, “The next flagship devices are coming to South Africa. The only difference will be that the new flagships will launch in South Africa without Google Mobile Services (GMS) and with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) instead. We hope we can spend two years to come back to number one smartphone market share in South Africa.”
He added that Huawei attained the number 1 position in the South African smartphone market before the implementation of the US Entity List, which slowed down their progress.
