If you are a government worker in Ghana who is paid by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department, you will attest to the periodic messages received from loan agents. If you consider them as a nuisance, you can put an end to it and here are some ways to block unwanted messages from loan agents in Ghana.

1. Construct a message beginning with the Keyword “BLOCK”

Construct a message with Block as the keyword, leave a space and type the phone number or sender ID you want to block (example: BLOCK 1111). After that, send the message to the shortcode 1309. You will receive a message if you succeed in doing so.

2. Block number manually

In the messaging app, select the message you wish to block. Then tap the three dots that appear on top of the message. You will see the message with the subject Block and Report Spam. Tick the small box and tap ok. With this, you will successfully block the number from sending you messages.

This method can be used to block all messages you do not want to receive, not just messages from loan agents.
