Customers of Vodafone Ghana will from early next year, 2019, experience faster data speeds. This comes on the heels of the telecom operator reaching an agreement with the National Communications Authority (NCA). The agreement, for the purchase of one slot of the 2x5MHz frequency spectrum in the 800MHz band for mobile services, will enable Vodafone deliver 4G services.

Commenting on the development, Vodafone Ghana’s Chief Executive, Yolanda Cuba expressed the telecom operator’s excitement at securing the license.
She reiterated Vodafone’s commitment to continuously work with the NCA in order to promote digital inclusion in the country. Thus, the 4G spectrum will enable Vodafone play a major role in the government’s agenda of digitizing Ghana’s economy.
Vodafone is of the firm belief that the access its been granted with the 4G spectrum will contribute to its vision of igniting Ghana’s digital revolution.
The coming weeks will witness the company setting out to commence an active technical process in order to align its infrastructure to deliver 4G services.
This highlights a positive end to the year for Vodafone Group, as it celebrates a decade of being an active player in Ghana’s telecommunications industry.
