Join GTL’s free training to become a professional mobile app developer

Ghana Tech Lab is organising a free mobile app developer training for people who want to become professional app developers.

Ghana Tech Lab is a technology-oriented organisation that trains people interested in using technology to build their own business. Right now, GTL is organising a mobile app development training across the country.

You could be a graduate looking for a job. How about you create your job? GTL is looking for graduates from the SHS level, the university, technical schools, and TVET to come and learn how to code mobile apps, for free.

Ghana’s Ministry of Communication funds this training program with support from World Bank Funding.

The tuition is free for all. Excitingly, there is a seed fund of up to $10,000. The seed fund will be given to those that had the best ideas for incubation. Taking advantage of this opportunity could make you a proficient mobile app developer, and even start your own company right from there.

The training program

The training lasts for three months. It begins with an intensive digital skills training. The trainees are equipped with the top-notch skills to prepare them to develop their ideas.

Incubation

This is where trainees build companies with proven business models. After the one-month training program, some of the trainees are selected for GTL’s incubation program. The incubation combines technical skills with business skills to train the participants.

Seed Funding

Startups are formed during and after the incubation phase. The startups are given grants to help materialise their ideas into world class business organisations. These startups formed are trained to focus more on solving the problems in our society with the use of technology.

Note that the upcoming app development training has a seed funding of $10,000, which is supported by the World Bank and the Ministry of Communications.

Locations for training

The training will go on in various cities across the country. The cities for the training currently are:

  • Accra
  • Bolgatanga
  • Ho
  • Kumasi
  • Sunyani
  • Tamale
  • Takoradi
