As the Chinese people continue to battle with the Coronavirus, ridesharing app, DiDi Chuxing has taken some steps to help by filling the void left under the quarantine and public transportation shutdown. DiDi is a ride-hailing service in China, and Uber owns about a 15% stake.
Didi simply installed protective sheets as dividers in ride-sharing vehicles across China and the sheets are meant to prevent droplet transmission of COVID-19 as per a recent press release from the company.
A Didi spokesperson also revealed that the company has put together a fleet of over 1300 drivers to provide transportation for every hospital staff in Wuhan. Didi has even shared masks, disinfectants, and other protective gear to drivers in one hundred cities in China.
