Amazon recently sacked several workers that were involved in leaking customer data to outside parties, reports have said. Via email, the company revealed that at least one employee shared the customers’ email addresses and phone numbers to a 3rd-party and it violated their policies.
According to Amazon, the employee has been sacked for the leak, and no other info related to the user accounts were shared. An Amazon spokesperson said, “The individuals responsible for this incident have been terminated and we are supporting law enforcement in their prosecution.”
Amazon did not shed light on the number of affected customers or how many workers were involved.
