Facebook is tweaking controls around its political and social-issue adverts, amid reports that the social media site is doing nothing to stop the misinformation and manipulation on its platform. In a recent blog published today, the popular social media company disclosed that it is adding more features to how users can interact with political ads on its platform.
Product Management Director, Rob Leathern had this to say, “Seeing fewer political and social issue ads is a common request we hear from people. That’s why we plan to add a new control that will allow people to see fewer political and social issue ads on Facebook and Instagram. This feature builds on other controls in Ad Preferences we’ve released in the past, like allowing people to see fewer ads about certain topics or remove interests.”
