The first devices getting this update are the HUAWEI P30 series. Let’s see some of the most important updates coming in the Huawei EMUI 10 software.

Table of Contents

Important updates in the EMUI10 software

1. A whole new look and feel

The EMUI10 is going to give its consumers a whole new look. Huawei says the software was redesigned to be more “aesthetically pleasing while also being more functional”. The new UI design takes its inspiration from the design of a magazine. This is obvious from the increased spacing and larger headlines.

There is spacing between the notifications and the drop-down menus will not have any text. The new UI design covers all aspects of the system, from contacts to settings to notepad and even the gallery.

2. Darker “Dark Mode”

The EMUI 10 is also coming with a dark mode feature. Huawei says the Dark Mode in the EMUI 10 is going to be more dark and beautiful. According to the company, EMUI10’s Dark Mode will make the overall viewing experience more comfortable.

The EMUI 10 has the ability to adjust contrast even under changing light conditions. Its Dark Mode has 4 various colour themes for different light conditions. Excitingly, the Dark Mode can be applied to both pre-installed and third-party apps.

3. Updated camera design

The new zoom slider in the EMUI10 update will offer a simpler and clearer background when taking photos. The EMUI10 update is also bringing 11 new filters inclusive of monochrome options to the camera.

The level of bokeh (portrait mode) will be listed by the f-stop instead of just a number.

4. Smoother animations

EMUI 10 promises consumers more fluid and natural animations. According to Huawei, the update has been modelled on real-world physics to improve the overall quality of animations. Users are going to have a more natural feel and smooth experience using their smartphones.

5. Colour elements

The colour elements across the whole interface has been redone. EMUI 10 is bringing a “muted” or “subtle” colour tone to devices that will host the update.

According to Huawei, the new colour elements design took inspiration from the famous Italian painter Giorgio Morandi’s colour palette.

The new EMUI 10 software is expected to roll out on the 8th of September, 2019. And the HUAWEI P30 series will be the first devices to get the new update.
