New subscribers seeking to join the MTN Ghana family to enjoy its numerous services have to watch out as the company has outlined 3 major outlets through which they can obtain SIM cards. The company has also specified the amount to pay for a SIM card.

It is not uncommon to see people hawking MTN SIM cards in various places, but some of these sellers take advantage of people to sell to them at unapproved prices.

There have been times when some of these hawkers sold preregistered MTN SIM cards to people and that brought problems to those who did not recognize this to go and have their registration details changed.

To ensure the security of people’s numbers, the network has decided to outline the approved outlets where they can get their SIM cards, get them registered properly with the Ghana Card, and pay the approved prices for them.

According to MTN Ghana, the following three places will be the only approved places where new subscribers can get new SIM cards:

  1. MTN service centres
  2. MTN connect stores
  3. MTN authorised shops.

Apart from these places, anyone wanting to get a new MTN SIM card will have to tread cautiously.

How much is a new MTN SIM card?

The price for a new MTN SIM card is GHS 10. The only form of identification one needs to get a SIM card registered for them is the Ghana Card. Remember that you may have problems with your MTN Mobile Money wallet if your SIM card is not registered with your Ghana Card.
