Facebook recently revealed some new ways for video creators to make money from the platform. At the 2019 VidCon, YouTube has also launched more monetisation options for its creators to engage fans and earn more money from their videos as well.
At the conference last year, YouTube introduced options like channel memberships, merchandise shelves, premieres, etc. This year the company has added more new features to these existing monetisation options.
Not just that, YouTube has also introduced new products like Learning Playlists and Super Stickers.

Learning Playlists aims to promote the educational use of YouTube. Super Stickers is a new tool that complements the existing Super Chat monetisation tool. Super Chat is the feature launched in 2017 that let fans pay to make their messages stand out during a live stream or premiere.
With the introduction of Super Chat, some YouTubers earn over $400 per minute and the feature is recorded to be the No. 1 revenue stream for over 20,00 channels, though more than 90,000 channels have used this feature.
With such success, Youtube thought it wise to give the feature an add-on, i.e. the Super Stickers. The Super Stickers lets fans purchase animated stickers during live streams and premieres “in order to show creators how much they like their content”. This is much similar to Facebook’s new Stars Pack monetisation feature.
The exciting news is, the Super Stickers will be offered across different languages. It will also be offered across the major categories — gaming, fashion and beauty, sports, music, food, etc.
YouTube has also updated its Channel Membership option. Now, fans can choose to pay the $4.99 Channel Membership subscription to get access to exclusive live streams, extra videos or shout-outs. The $4.99 subscription also gives the fans unique badges and new emojis.
The new addition to this option is “Levels”. With the Levels addition, YouTube creators can set up 5 price points for memberships. This feature is reported to have increased the beta testers’ revenue by 6x.
