Your body reacts in several ways in preparation for birth. Sometimes, it can be quite confusing knowing when you are in labour and when you go straight to the hospital. See When a pregnant woman should visit the hospital:
1. When you are having a bloody show: It could happen in the form of a jelly-like discharge that will be bloody or contain old brownish blood. Labour could be imminent.
2. Waters breaking: This could happen in the form of a mild trickle or a sudden gush. It is the closest sign that you need to be close to your doctor.
3. Timing your contractions: When contractions begin to last thirty to forty seconds and come every five minutes, reach out to a midwife.
