WhatsApp welcomes Dark Mode on Android:

WhatsApp has finally launched a Dark Mode feature, after suggesting it months ago. The messaging platform, with over 1.5 billion active accounts, has released the feature for users on the beta channel, meaning everyone who updates their WhatsApp for Android to version 2.20.13 will have the opportunity to try it out. To enable Dark Mode, just head to Settings > Chats > Theme and select the mode you fancy.

Android Authority had this to say, “WhatsApp’s dark mode uses dark hues instead of going completely black though, which is a little disappointing if you’re a fan of other apps with an OLED dark mode. Nevertheless, it should still be easier on the eyes compared to the long-standing light mode. But hopefully, we see a black mode in the near future, as it allows for bigger battery savings when using a phone with an OLED screen.”
