This is because users across the globe recently reported that platforms owned by Facebook are presently experiencing problems due to the partial worldwide outage.
The reason for the partial outage is not known, however, WhatsApp has witnessed a massive increase in users since the COVID-19 pandemic started and this could be a potential reason. Furthermore, Facebook and Instagram have identical problems with several users across the world sending in lots of reports to narrate their experiences.
Recall that Facebook recently revealed that the platform is presently battling with the coronavirus outbreak as they are struggling to match the new traffic.

Alex Schultz, Facebook’s VP of Analytics had this to say, “Much of the increased traffic is happening on our messaging services, but we’ve also seen more people using our feed and stories products to get updates from their family and friends. At the same time, our business is being adversely affected like so many others around the world. We don’t monetize many of the services where we’re seeing increased engagement, and we’ve seen a weakening in our ads business in countries taking aggressive actions to reduce the spread of COVID-19.”
