Employees of AirtelTigo have initiated a programme called the “Season of Random Kindness”, where they donate items randomly to institutions like schools and hospitals. Two schools are recently the beneficiaries of this AirtelTigo “Season of Random Kindness” initiative.
The La Wireless Cluster of Schools in the Greater Accra region and the Sekondi School for the Deaf in the Western region are the newest recipients of the initiative. The two schools received assorted items, including educational materials, food items and clothes.
One of the pillars of AirtelTigo’s CSR programmes is education. Therefore the company sees it fit to donate educational materials to those schools to help improve academic work.
Eric Adadevoh, Chief Human Resources Officer at AirtelTigo, at the La Wireless Cluster of Schools, said the company sees itself as a development partner thus the generous donations.
“Creating value and improving lives is part of our culture as demonstrated by our staff donations and the time we invest in our communities.
We believe that this donation will go a long way in helping the pupils of the school. We see ourselves as development partner’s and the “Season of Random Kindness” will continue to be used as a gesture to impact lives.”
Also at the Sekondi School for the Deaf, Judah Entsua-Mensah, who is the Commercial Head for Western and Central Regions, led the donations. He encouraged the children to believe in themselves and expressed the hope that the donation would help meet some of the needs of the school.
Edward Opoku Manu is the Circuit Supervisor for La Wireless Cluster of School. He noted that the school was grateful for the donations from AirtelTigo’s “Seasons of Random Kindness” programme.
“We are very happy to receive these items from AirtelTigo. We believe that this donation will boost the children’s morale to learn.”
The “Season of Random Kindness” is an AirtelTigo staff Corporate Social Responsibility initiative aimed at giving back to communities.
Through this initiative, AirtelTigo employees have supported important projects by investing time and resources. They have also provided essential supplies for schools, hospitals and orphanages.
