Twitter has finally announced that it is working on its verification system to provide credible updates on the coronavirus. The social media platform also urged experts to do everything possible to get their information up to date and associate the word addresses with their accounts to fasten the process.

This is Twitter’s way of ensuring its website is free from false information on the pandemic. The blue checkmark will steer users to authentic voices or the official accounts for high-profile people or organizations. Twitter added that experts must make sure the email address associated with their Twitter account is their work email.

A brief statement read, “We’re also considering a way to take public suggestions, but first are reviewing the suggestions we have from global public health authorities and partners.”
