1. SpaceX launched into orbit its first human passengers

Last Saturday, American aerospace manufacturer SpaceX, launched Nasa astronauts from the US into orbit. With the help of the spacecraft known as Crew Dragon, astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken were carried into the orbit for a rendezvous with the International Space Space. As reported by Business Insider, Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX, said he had mixed feelings after the successful launch. This is the first time the Crew Dragon has carried humans into space since the last Shuttle flight in 2011.

2. UK aid-backed drone technology facilitates Ghana’s Covid-19 fight

According to the Ghana News Agency, UK aid and Gavi -Vaccine Alliance- is assisting Ghana to use Zipline drones to gather Covid-19 samples from across the country. The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Ian Walker, revealed that the Zipline drones would be used by health experts to safely collect test samples and deliver them to one of Ghana’s testing laboratories.

3. GIZ, IBM partner Ghana Tech Lab for AI accelerator

Disrupt Africa has announced in a recent tweet the partnership between the Ghana Tech Lab, GIZ and IBM to run an AI-focused accelerator programme. The African AI Accelerator has been designed by the Ghana Tech Lab to promote local innovations in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data usage.
