Let us prepare the syrup:
You will need equal part of sugar to water. Boil this in a pan until sugar dissolves and turns into a light golden colour. Set aside.
Now boil a cup of water and pour over tea bags say 4 tea bags. Add a pinch of baking soda (yes this is supposed to neutralise the tannins in the tea whilst making it taste smooth wink) Steep for 5 minutes.
Ps: Don’t squeeze the tea bags when you remove them. Pour in your syrup, add half lemon juice to it. Slice the other half for serving.
Add mint leaves(optional), pour into a pitcher and add 6 cups of water.
Refrigerate for an hour to let the flavours develop.
