Spearhead Networks and Thycotic join hands to provide cyber-security in Ghana

Cyber-security in Ghana is about to get beefed up from now as the government is instituting the Ghana Cyber Security Authority. Private companies have also joined in the fight against cybercrime and cyber-threats.

Thus, Spearhead Networks, an ICT security training and next-generation threat driven solutions provider in Ghana, has joined hands with another IT security company, Thycotic. The product of this partnership is going to be the provision of cyber-security solutions for companies in Ghana and across Africa as well.

The provision of cyber-security by these two companies is going to enable the clients to manage their data credentials such as confidential account details with enterprise-grade that give them the options. Also, the clients will be provided with a Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution, which is available for both on-premise or in the cloud. This management solution will provide an all-in-one solution for least privilege management, threat intelligence and application whitelisting, greylisting and blacklisting.

Spearhead Networks and Thycotic are also going to provide full-featured privileged access management in the cloud called secret server cloud. This is to enable the customers to sign up and start right away. The secret server management solution comes with an end-to-end security system and infrastructure, deployment of software within an on-premise data centre virtual private cloud. With this, the clients will have total control over their data and the usage of it.

Ernest Darko Mensah, the Managing Director of Spearhead, has remarked that people have failed to realise the need for critical infrastructure to provide tighter security for their operations. Thus, Spearhead has started creating awareness and alongside will introduce their solutions to help fight cybercrime and threats.

One point he touched on was how people managed their accounts. He said a lot of people usually do not use the best practices for managing accounts. An instance he gave was wrong passwords. This, Mensah said, easily exposes people to cybercriminals.

Spearhead Networks, started in 2007, over 11 years in the information communications security industry in Ghana. It has served a lot of organisations and individuals in the country by providing them with complete Information and Security Solutions. Its clientele includes educational, military, legal, healthcare, energy and financial institutions.
