Shoprite Group, the biggest food retailer in Africa, has stepped up its social distancing and hygiene measures by introducing temperature testing and mobile clinics for workers to make sure its stores remain safe and secure during the coronavirus crises.
According to Shoprite’s chief executive officer, Pieter Engelbrecht, henceforth, there would be a temperature testing on a daily basis as workers come to work, distribution of plastic face shields among employees and proper hygiene and sanitizing among every staff of the company. He added that anyone found with high temperatures would be asked to visit their mobile clinics for consultation and further testing.
