The Senate has ordered the Federal Government to suspend any plans to deploy the Fifth Generation Network in Nigeria. According to Sen. Uche Ekwunife (PDP Anambra), who sponsored the motion, the move is necessary because there are concerns by scientists and medical experts that emission from 5G towers might negatively affect the health of Nigerians.
According to Vanguard, Sen. Uche revealed that even if 5G network will guarantee quicker speed and better capacity, Nigeria must learn from Switzerland, one of the world leaders in the release of 5G mobile technology, as they recently placed an indefinite ban on the use of 5G network due to its health concerns.
