Satellite broadband has been identified to be the way of the future. This is according to Yvette Atekpe, the Regional Managing Director of Internet Solutions (IS).
This observation according to her, can be attributed to the increasing demand by customers for universal and affordable internet access. Consumers she says are constantly on the lookout for the best and most reliable technology to meet their needs and requirements.
She was speaking at the launch of a partnership agreement reached between IS and Konnect Africa held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, during which Ms Atekpe acknowledged Konnect Africa as a trustworthy partner who will be joining forces with IS to roll out broadband services through satellite technology in Ghana.
Konnect Africa’s Chief Executive Officer, Jean-Claude Tshipama stressed on his company’s vision to enable universal coverage for all populations not only to Ghana but to the rest of Africa – in his remarks at the launch. He went on further to say that with a strong internet coverage, people across the continent can then leverage the full potential of digital connectivity – to access information, grow businesses and boost economic development.
Internet Solutions will be creating jobs as there will be a need for installation of satellites for the various consumers of the broadband and has promised that installers will be provided with specific training, motivation, and incentives to further improve the quality of services.
Internet Solutions intends to use its expertise in service delivery and customer support to run on Konnect Africa’s state-of-the-art satellite infrastructure in order to provide broadband connectivity to urban, rural, and the most remote locations in Ghana.
