On February 25, 2018, we are hoping to see Samsung’s flagship, the Galaxy S9. As always, we are expecting some high-end specs from the leading smartphone distributors.
Samsung Galaxy S9 rumours
The Samsung Galaxy S9 has been officially teased in several videos pointing to new camera abilities. It’s also possible that the phone would have an Animoji-like feature and two speakers.
The rumours so far show that the Samsung Galaxy S9 will come with the following specs:

The 5.8 inch Super AMOLED screen may come with a display quality of QHD (1440 x 2960). As for the form the screen will take, it’s rumored (and likely) to retain the Galaxy S8’s 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Rumors of an in-screen fingerprint scanner abound, like the new Qualcomm Fingerprint Sensor can sit below quite thick displays, but we don’t have much information about its inclusion in the S9.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 may pack 64GB/128GB of internal storage and 4GB RAM.
According to techradar a 12MP Dual Pixel lens with optical image stabilization and a variable f/1.5-2.4 aperture. That means it would be able to switch between f/1.5 (great for low light shots) and f/2.4 (ideal when the lighting is better and you want more of the photo to be in focus). It also comes with an 8MP front camera which supports ‘super slow-mo’.
Again, according to TechRadar, the device should come with 3,000mAh capacity – the same as the Galaxy S8.
Face scanner and iris recognition
iPhone X led the way in face recognition last year and this may be copied by Samsung Galaxy S9. In addition, they are expected to improve the iris scanner. From 2MP on the S8, the S9 may see an improvement to 3MP and the scanner will still identify your eyes even when you are in glasses or poor lighting situation.
Rumours also have it that both the face scanning and iris detection may be combined in poor lighting situations. Let’s see how that goes.
