Rumours of Samsung Galaxy S10 surfaces on the internet with some amazing specs. One striking thing is the phone might possibly be 5G. Unlike the foldable phone it showed in November, Samsung hasn’t made any official announcement about the S10, codenamed “Beyond”.
According to the Rumours, the Galaxy S10 may come in three models, packed with current popular smartphone features.
Possible 5G, Plus models, budget models
The Galaxy S10 may to come in three models:

- The normal or standard model. May be about the same size the Galaxy S9, with much slimmer bezels.
- A larger Plus model like the Galaxy S9 Plus.
- A budget model. Few trade-offs: no in-screen fingerprint reader and might lose the headphone jack.
The Plus version (codenamed “Beyond X“) will have 5G capabilities, per the rumours.
This may not be the first Samsung phone to be 5G. DJ Koh, Samsung’s Mobile Chief, has been reported as saying a separate device launching in March on Korean carriers will be Samsung’s first 5G phone instead.
Fours at the back, two on the front, according to one report. The multiple rear cameras will the device very functional. It will be able to give more zoom options, more fine detail, depth mapping for portrait mode (the “bokeh effect”), etc.
This rumour is actually strengthened by the existence of the Galaxy A9. The Galaxy A9 has four rear cameras. Samsung announced in October for Asian markets.
Amidst all these reports, a Twitter leaker, Evans Blass, has said the phone will have three cameras not four.
What about the screen?
The S10 Plus could be coming with 6.7-inch screen, according to one rumour. To make this possible, they would have to shrink the bezels. This will expand the usable screen space without increasing the size of the phone.
At this point, a screen notch can’t be avoided. Samsung even showed off notched screen styles for its Infinity Display at its developer conference in November. They are the Infinity-U (a U-shaped notch), Infinity V (a V-shaped notch) and Infinity-O. Evan Blass says the Galaxy S10 may use the Infinity-O notch, with a hole punched out of it for at least one camera lens.
Fingerprint sensor is ‘ultrasonic’
In-screen fingerprint sensors are becoming a thing these days, especially in flagship devices. Rumours reaching as far back as the Galaxy S9 have pegged the feature for a Galaxy. Though the OnePlus 6T has beaten Samsung to become the first US carrier phone to have one.
Reportedly, the Galaxy S10 will get an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and it will be ultrasonic! Meaning, it will use sound to capture the ridges and valleys of fingerprints to unlock the phone.
Android 9 (Pie)
Samsung has confirmed to CNET that all future phones will run its new One UI interface. Samsung unveiled this at its November Developer Conference. And this is what the Galaxy S10 will run on, on top of Pie (Android version 9).
When is it coming?
Typically, the company announces its Galaxy S phones in the last days of February. However, the foldable Galaxy X is also rumoured to appear in March. And it’s not clear if Samsung will announce both phones at the same time. So, there’s a possibility that they’ll launch it in February and put it on the market in March.
