Nigeria Emerges First in West Africa to Testrun 5G Technology

Trial for the 5th Generation Technology (5G) has started in Nigeria and this makes the nation the first West African country to try the most recent broadband technology. MTN is responsible for this achievement.

The company revealed that the trial in Nigeria and first in the West African region is part of the 2020 initial target in Nigeria.

MTN partnered with the Ministry of Communications Technology and Digital Economy, Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC), Huawei (Abuja), ZTE (Calabar) and Ericsson (Lagos) to exhibit the proficiencies and potentials of 5G in driving economic growth and social inclusion.
