MTN, the nation’s leading telecommunication network, is from today Monday 3rd December, offering customers at Tip Toe Lane in Accra its Fast Wi-Fi service at 50% discount.
The MTN Wi-Fi service which is open to the general public, can be accessed via two options:
Option 1, which is open to MTN subscribers only, uses a SIM authentication method. Subscribers can access the service using a phone that supports EAP-SIM or EAP-AKA. There is no username, account or password required as network authentication is done through the customer’s MTN SIM.
Option 2, is open to both to MTN users and as well as non-subscribers. It requires individuals to create an account (username and password) from the portal. The customer’s phone number (MSISDN), will be their username. This method allows the username created to be used on all non-SIM based devices to latch onto the Wi-Fi network.
“MTN has declared 2019 as the ‘Year of the Customer’. And this is just the beginning of many innovative services we intend rolling out to our customers across the country.” – Mr. Eric Nsarkoh, Sales and Distribution Executive, MTN Ghana.
Also speaking on the development, Mr. Samuel Koranteng, Corporate Services Executive of MTN Ghana said “The implementation of the MTN Wi-Fi service at Tip Toe Lane is an integral part of our vision to lead in the delivery of a bold new digital world. The Wi-Fi service we believe will go a long way to boost the brisk business activities in that area and also offer the endless possibilities of connectivity particularly in the area of e-commerce”.
