MTN Ghana has been named the Fastest Mobile Network in Ghana for the first and second quarters of 2019. The declaration was produced from Ookla’s Speedtest Data.
Aside that, the telecom company was also adjudged the Best Coverage Network as well as the Best Mobile Network in Ghana. All these came from Ookla’s speed test data for 2019’s Q1 and Q2.
The test runner, Ookla, is a global leader in mobile and broadband network intelligence, testing applications and technology. This organization provides the useful breakdowns of the performance, quality, and coverage of networks around the world via its structured speed tests.
The speed tests give insights into the performance, quality, and coverage of mobile networks and global fixed broadband.
From the speed tests, MTN’s subscribers enjoy better speeds than other networks. This is due to the company’s 3G, 4G and 4G+ networks which have been rolled out all over Ghana.
Thomas Motlepa, the Chief Technical Officer for MTN Ghana remarked that the company will continue to find and provide better ways for its subscribers to enjoy the network. This includes providing them with the fastest mobile network infrastructure available.
“We are excited about the three awards received in the first quarter of 2019. This affirms our commitment, drive and concerted efforts of achieving our vision of leading the delivery of a bold new digital world.
“We will continue to explore more digital tools and technologies that will help us gauge and provide an unbiased measurement of our network performance as we strive to deliver a positive customer experience on the MTN Network.”
To give its customers a faster network than before, MTN launched its 4G+ network in the second quarter. And since the launch of the 4G+ network, coverage has been extended to over 1600 sites across the country.
As the customers asked for more, the company launched the super high-speed plug and play internet router, the MTN TurboNet.
The CEO of the company, Selorm Adadevoh, commented on MTN being the fastest mobile network in the country.
“Winning this award from the industry’s leading source of insights into global fixed broadband and mobile performance data is really heart-warming.
“We are motivated and energized to continue the best practices that delivered this success”.
