Following some complaints from subscribers and some government officials, MTN Ghana has finally tweaked their operations to satisfy customers. From today, Sunday, December 1, 2019, when you buy data bundles from MTN it wouldn’t expire.
You will not be given an expiration date as it happened before. MTN is not the first Ghanaian telecom company to do this. AirtelTigo has been doing this for a while now. You buy your data bundle and you use it till it gets finished.
There’s one thing to know. The values of the data bundle given have now decreased a little. An example is their Midnight Bundles. Previously, 1 cedi would get you 3GB of data, which was valid for only 2 hours, that is, from 3 AM to 5 AM. With the new arrangement, 3GB (which actually comes 2.93GB) will costs you 3 cedis.
The daily bundle which was 500MB for 3 cedis has also been reduced to just 127.66MB.
The old one which was expiration-enabled is no more. It will still be good if MTN maintains the old packages with the validity periods.
