How to scan your PC with Windows Defender

  1. Access Windows Settings. Tap the start button and then the gear icon.
  2. Tap “Update & Security.”
  3. Right there, you will know if your computer has available updates under “Windows Update.”
  4. Choose “Windows Security” and then tap the button way up on the page labelled “Open Windows Security.”
  5. Choose “Virus & threat protection.”
