Ghana’s fintech startup, KudiGO has been awarded as the Technology Innovation of the Year for Retail and Commerce at the 2019 MOBEX Africa Innovation Awards. The awards event was organised to appreciate organisations and people who are transforming their societies through tech innovations and creativity.
From the Enterprise category, the fintech startup emerged the winner. The KudiGO platform offers an integrated mobile-based retail, payments, accounting, and analytics engine for consumer retails.
The Ghanaian fintech company helps businesses to receive payments and track inventories. Also, it helps them build a comprehensive and reliable financial model based on past trends.
The Chief Executive Officer of KudiGO, Kingsley Abrokwah remarked to appreciate the recognition given to them by the MOBEX Africa Awards. He also dedicated the award to the team behind the whole KudiGo platform.
He said their relentless efforts are what is constantly driving the company gradually to achieving its set mission. The set mission, according to Abrokwah, is to fully utilise the power of smart technology to create value for the retail space in Africa.
“We have always believed that the vision and drive behind KudiGo went beyond our individual efforts as a startup,” Abrokwah said.
As at now, the financial platform has over 300 client businesses using its solution. Subsequently, more than 300,000 inventories are uploaded into its system and over 5,000 being processed.
Abrokwah continued that the platform’s users “the average African retailers are the real masters and innovators behind this solution, and we dedicate this recognition to them; thank you for becoming ‘The New Smart’ with KudiGo.”
KudiGO is a user-oriented platform. As such, it takes network connectivity in sub-Saharan Africa into consideration. It provides offline-online sync to aid stores to have all their important information securely backed up in the cloud.
KudiGo emerged as the winner in the Enterprise category, making them the MIA Technology Innovation of the Year for Retail and Commerce.
The Mobex Africa Innovation Awards (MIA) is a scheme specifically designed to acknowledge the efforts and appreciate the innovation, excellence, and creativity of individuals and organisations that are trying to positively affect the lives of people through technology.
As well, people who solve socio-economic problems with the deployment of ICT skills and knowledge are also awarded. The scheme is to help encourage the creative, technical, and professional progress of solving societal issues.
The 2019 edition of the Mobex Africa saw over 30 technology-oriented organisations competing for the various awards in 3 main categories, that is, Enterprise, Consumer and Social Good, and Fintech. There were Governance and Special Awards as well.
