Huawei’s troubles with the U.S. have pushed the company to a level that it probably didn’t plan to get soon. Getting an Android alternative for its devices is now going to be a reality.
As Huawei officially launched the HarmonyOS, the company said it was not immediately going to be used by consumers and it was “completely different” from Android and iOS. Well, that seems to be backtracked or fast-forwarded.
Whichever way, there is a new video on YouTube that is suggesting the Huawei P40 Pro, coming probably March 2020, will be the first smartphone to run two operating systems.
According to the YouTube channel called TechZG, the said Huawei P40 Pro might run the HarmonyOS from Huawei and the current Android 10 from Google (without Google apps). The Huawei P40 Pro having the two operating software will provide the user with a dual-booting option. See the video for the supposed dual-OS phone.
Some will ask, why do we need dual OS smartphones? For sure, not everybody will be a fan of new tech innovation in the beginning but for Huawei, it might prove to be a step in the right direction. Why? During an interview with The Financial Times, an executive from Huawei hinted that a full-fledged Android alternative for Huawei smartphones would take a few years to become complete.
And looking at the company’s relationship with the U.S., the dual OS plan might be good, in case the company is banned completely by the U.S. in the future, it will just have to switch.
