Huawei has announced its next flagship mobile device, the Huawei Mate 30, will be unveiled this month. The launch event will take place in Munich, Germany on September 19, 2019, as the company announced via its Twitter page.
Predictably, the short teaser video that Huawei posted in Twitter hinted the camera to be the head topic for the event as it’s coming with some important features. The teaser also said “series”, which means the company is going to unveil more than one mobile device at the event. This is likely going to be Mate 30, Mate 30 Lite, and Mate 30 Pro.
Huawei considers the “Mate” series as the company’s true flagship among the other smartphone series. Thus, you are sure to expect the Mate 30 models to come with top-notch features and specs. It is probably going to have the company’s new and powerful Kirin 990 processor.
According to the many leaks floating around the internet, the Huawei Mate 30 will also have a quad rear camera system like the P30 Pro. But there are some things that are likely not coming with the Mate 30. One of those things is pre-installed Google apps and services, including the Google Play store.
This could be a big punch to the Chinese tech giant globally but not in China. This is because of Google’s domination over the smartphone world in terms of software. Just think of a mobile device and as such a smartphone, without Google Play Store.
More on that will be revealed on the 19th but before then let’s see some expected features of the Huawei Mate 30.
Expected features and specs of the Huawei Mate 30
The Mate 30 is expected to come with two 40MP cameras, an 8MP lens, and a time-of-flight sensor. These will be making up the rear camera setup for the phone. There is also the expectations that the device will have a circular cutout design for the rear camera system. That means, there will be a big sunken circle behind the phone which will accommodate the rear shooters.
We also expect a curved screen — a display screen that curves around the left and right sides. Though the Kirin 990 chipset is expected to power the Mate 30, it is rumoured that the Mate 30 Lite might get the lesser powerful Kirin 810 chipset, which will be really unfair.
The Lite model may also come with a hole-punch selfie camera unlike the alleged leaked photos of the Mate 30 and the Pro model, which are going to have notches to house the sensors at the front.
It won’t also feature the large circular cutout for the rear camera on the other two models. It is supposedly coming with a square camera array on its rear, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor just below it.
The phones are also expected to be dual-SIM and have face unlock feature.
