After all the rumors, Huawei has finally come out with the Huawei Mate 10 range of phablets. The range comes with sleek designs, amazing specs and all that. As high-end devices, they’re going to come at a high cost too.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) in technology has become a big thing in recent time, and Huawei seems to have experimented it with the Huawei Mate 10 set of phablets. In fact, it’s the first smartphone to be powered by the Kirin 970, which comes with a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) for AI.

Aside the Kirin 970 which enables the phone to learn your user habits, the Mate 10 comes with other specifications that place it at the top of the list of flagships.
Design and Display
The dimensions are 150.5 x 77.8 x 8.2mm and it weighs 186g. This makes it a similar size and weight to the Huawei Mate 9.

Also, it comes in various colors: Mocha Brown, Black, Champagne Gold or Pink Gold.
There’s a 5.9-inch LCD screen, just like on the Mate 9. However, it’s had a resolution boost, as the Huawei Mate 10 is 1,440 x 2,560, giving it a pixel density of 499 pixels per inch.
One outstanding feature of all flagships is the camera. This is one of their major selling points.
The Huawei Mate 10 does not disappoint. It comes with a dual-lens camera which consists of a 20MP black and white sensor and a 12MP color one. Typically you’ll be using both sensors to take photos, with the Mate 10 combining image data from the two for a more detailed shot.
It also comes with an 8MP selfie camera.
The versatile nature of smartphones makes them very vulnerable when it comes to battery strength. For high-end phones such as the Huawei Mate 10, the battery strength is essential to their success on the market.
It has a 4,000mAh power unit, which is bigger than most phones, though the same size as the Huawei Mate 9.
The device can boast of 64GB of storage built-in, plus a microSD card slot supporting cards of up to 256GB.
Also, it is powered by an octa-core Kirin 970 chipset, with four cores running at 2.36GHz and four going at 1.8GHz.
It’s aided by 4GB of RAM and a neural network processing unit (NPU), which Huawei claims to improve performance and efficiency for AI-related tasks.

As to whether this phone will be successful on the market, we wait to see. It will be sold at GHS 3100.
