If you want to succeed in everything you are doing, you have to be persistent, you have to put in a lot of effort and you have to strive for greatness every day. Fitness is certainly an important segment of our lives and as such we should treat it as a priority. After all, it is our health and well-being we are talking about. Now, summer is a season when you can work out outside in many different ways and that’s why we love it. So, let’s see what you can do to make your summer workouts more effective. Better performance, better results!
A cold shower before heading out
It may seem odd to hear someone tell you to take a quick cold shower before heading out for a workout but that is exactly what you should do. Considering that it’s summer, the heat can be quite unbearable. So, a cold shower will cool you down. That instantly gives you an advantage because your body temperature will stay comfortable for you longer which means longer and more effective workout. Leave your hair wet and it will be even more refreshing once you start exercising. Also, bring a bottle of water and pour it over your head every once in a while. The more you can spend exercising under the sun, the better the results.

Sweat-wicking apparel
Exercising is something you can do even in your regular clothes, provided you have good enough range of motion while wearing them. However, when you work out during the summer, you need to take better care and look for clothes that will make your workouts pleasant. For example, investing in some sweat-wicking gym wear might be a good idea since you don’t want to drown yourself in your own sweat. Also, you should keep it simple, since you don’t want any of the extra layers. And the layers you have to wear need to pull sweat off of your skin. For extra protection, wear a hat. That way your head won’t be exposed to the hot sun directly.
Start brewing
You can probably guess that coffee is the main feature of this paragraph. The caffeine in a pre-workout cup of joe will most certainly stimulate your central nervous system. That means that you’ll have that extra energy kick to get your workout going. Now, coffee is not only a performance booster, it also makes the whole workout experience feel better and more enjoyable. And when it feels like that, you’ll probably push even harder. So, start brewing and drink a cup of coffee half an hour before you start sweating just to give it enough time to properly kick in.
Motivate yourself with music
Summer heat can be extra tough on those days when you yourself have a hard time finding the motivation to leave bad and go for a jog. That’s why it wouldn’t be bad to ask your favourite playlist for some help. Get pumped up listening to your favorite workout tunes. It doesn’t matter whether you’re visiting the gym or you rather just go out and run – listening to some music you like will most likely make you feel optimistic and strong. And with that right mindset, you’ll be ready to beast out your workout even though you weren’t really up to it earlier that day. Put on your headphones and start jiving, that is the first step towards the needed ‘beast mode’ that will enable you to kick your summer workout’s ass later.
Up the ante
Getting your heart rate up is possible with bodyweight exercises. There is no denying that. However, if you really want to amp up exercises this summer, consider adding some weights. Adding weights will provide your muscles with an extra challenge. You have probably mastered basic moves like squats and lunges and your muscles are probably used to them so that’s why you need to add some weights to it. Hold a set of dumbbells or a medicine ball to make the exercises of this kind more challenging. By making them more challenging, you make them more effective.
Sun is there to keep you company and help you sweat out those extra calories. Your will is there make these workouts more effective and now you know how.
