The OnePlus 6T is one of 2018’s phones that turned out to be a favorite among smartphone users. Boasting up to 8GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor among its specs, the device has a modern touch to its design with a small teardrop notch.
However, the aesthetics and wonderful specs aside, the device, just like every other tech piece, isn’t perfect — and a couple of related issues have popped up. Here are some of the most common ones and the solutions to them.
Battery draining unusually faster
Under normal circumstances, the 3,700mAh battery should get you through a day of use. However, some users have reported a battery life that only lasts for half a day.
While there doesn’t seem to be an official fix for it yet, some affected users have shared that a factory resetting of the device has been helpful.
To do a factory reset (which would wipe the phone clean), first back up everything. Then follow the following steps: Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data > Reset Phone > [Enter PIN if it’s protected] > Next > Erase everything.
OnePlus is expected to release a software update to address the issue so if you believe you can tolerate the issue until then, do go ahead.
Bad audio quality in certain apps
Some reports have been made about the OnePlus 6T having some issues relating to its microphone. Audio captured from the phone sounds tiny and distant when using third-party apps like Snapchat and WhatsApp.
Just as with the issue above, there’s no official fix from OnePlus yet. The commonest and most effective solution so far is for one to use an external mic or a headphone.
Thankfully, this issue is a software related one. What this means is that it can easily be fixed with a software update.
