Have you ever updated to the newest version of WordPress and then you don’t like some of the new upgrades in the new version of WordPress?
Worry no more, there’s always a way out to going back to the old WordPress version without going through any difficult process. However, before you downgrade, I’d highly recommend making sure you have a backup of your site just in case things don’t go as planned and everything gets screwed up.
The following are the various versions of WordPress, listed chronologically from the oldest to newest, along with the Change Log information on new features and improvements in each version.

After you’ve created a backup of your site, download and install WP Downgrade. After installing the plugin, put your cursor on Settings on the left bar i your backend and click WP Downgrade.
That will bring you to this page where you enter the wp version you wish to downgrade to.
As you can see in the screenshot above, my current WP version is 5.0 but I wish to downgrade to 4.9.8 so I just enter it in the input field and click save changes.
After saving the changes, the page above will load for you to Up-/Downgrade Core. Just click on it and it will automatically download the downgrade you input in the WordPress Target Version.
Now, just re-install the version you selected and watch the plugin downgrade to your target version.
