Google Photos is one of the most appropriate places to back up your pictures and protect them.
It does not matter if you are using an Android device, tab, iOS device, Mac or Windows PC, there are several apps that can be used to back up all your images automatically.
If you select “High quality” as the upload size, you will have access to unrestricted storage for your backups, but Google will instantly compress any picture higher than 16MP.
If you go for “Original,” the pictures will be uploaded with no compression, but you will be restricted to your Google account’s storage allocation. And that is 15GB for free accounts, even if additional space can be purchased.
