Over the years, giving directions in Ghana has been a herculean task. This has been due to the fact that we haven’t been able to create a standard property addressing system.
We have tried various methods such as street naming to solve the problem. However, it hasn’t been effective enough. So directions like “the yellow building beside the plantain seller” and many others are used. But again, how effective is that? What if the plantain seller isn’t around?
That is why the Government of Ghana in partnership with Ghana Postal Service has launched the Ghana Post GPS.

Created by Vokacom Limited (creators of Asaase GPS), GhanaPostGPS is the official digital property addressing system  in Ghana.
It covers every inch of the country and ensures that all locations in the country are addressed. With GhanaPostGPS, every location has a unique digital address.

How To Use Asaase GPS

  • Visit your App Store on Android or iOS to download the app. Alternatively, you can visit the official website to use the service. www.ghanapostgps.com
  • After downloading the app, you need to generate your unique code. To generate your unique address, open the Ghana Post GPS app and click on current location. Your unique address will appear next to the address code as shown in the image belowdig

The address above is for the Kumasi Main Post Office. In a deconstructed form, AK-039 is the postal code for the area, A refers to the region of the location (Ashanti Region), while K refers to the district (Kumasi District), 5028 is the unique address within the postal code. The Postal Code and the Unique Address come together to form the unique digital address.
The era of giving wrong directions is over. Download the app today to enjoy all its features. Follow jbklutse.com for more education on how to use the Ghana Post GPS app.
