The Government of Ghana is set to develop a software application that would assist event organisers to register event attendees, and safely record their contact information to make tracing available.
This announcement was made yesterday June 1, 2020, by the Minister of Communications, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful in a media briefing organised by the Ministry of Information.
The App, known as the Pan African BioSurveillance App (PANABOIS) is to enable users to book registrants and ensure that they do not exceed the maximum number of 100 participants in all social gatherings as announced by the President.
It will be linked to the Covid-19 tracker app that was developed in March and would be available to be downloaded by the various stakeholder’s websites from Wednesday, June 3, 2020.

Speaking on the App, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful said, “For our collective peace of mind, every event needs to keep an accurate register of everyone who attends those functions so that when need be, you can provide that information to the health authorities to help all of us.”
Event organisers are encouraged to assist the government in the fight against Covid-19 by downloading the app when it is launched, registering in attendees and adhering to all the safety protocols.
