Barely a month after the new shopping tab was added to Instagram, a similar kind has been introduced on the Facebook main app. The shopping tab dubbed — Facebook Shops — has been rolled following its announcement in May.

What you need to know about Facebook Shops

Facebook Shops was pronounced as a feature that turns pages into shops, which was seemingly a move to expand Facebook’s business portfolio for its users. Thus, it was an idea to offer creators and boutique brands a marketplace to conduct their businesses with ease.

The new Facebook Shops feature allows potential customers to easily access the websites of brands for products of their choice, which was previously quite impossible.

To enable users to get accurate results for specified searches, Facebook’s AI team added various new models to the new service. These models categorise each product by identifying the brand, style, and design. Moreover, businesses on Facebook Shops can now also customise their pages with its new layout for featuring single or group of products, new insights page, and a real-time preview of collections of designs all within Shops.

Bonus tip

One more exciting thing about the new Facebook Shops is that it allows customers to easily chat with these businesses on Messenger and Instagram, a feature which is currently under testing. Facebook, however, intends to add WhatsApp to the chatting options on Shops.
